Terms and Conditions

1) Legal Obligations

a) All pupils must hold a current provisional driving licence for the car (category B vehicle) before the first lesson.
b) Or pupils must hold a current licence from another country that gives them entitlement to drive in Great Britain for a specified period of time before the first lesson.
c) All pupils must be able to meet the health and eyesight requirements as stated on the current D1 Application for a Driving Licence form. If you need to wear contact lenses or glasses to read a number plate at the required distance of 20.5 metres, you must wear them at all times when driving.

2) Appointments

a) Every effort is made to ensure pupils receive tuition at the booked time and in the vehicle booked.
b) All lessons are booked on the understanding that CROSSROADS accepts no responsibility for lessons postponed due to mechanical breakdowns or other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of such situations another lesson will be booked at the first convenient time for both parties.
c) CROSSROADS has no control over the postponement of Driving Tests by the Driving Standards Agency.

3) Cancellations

a) CROSSROADS reserves the right to charge the full lesson fee for any lesson cancelled unless 48 hours notice is given.
b) In the event of cancellation a £5.00 administration charge will be deducted from refunds claimed against any prepaid lesson fees.
c) Any lessons already taken will be charged at the standard lesson fee and not at any block booking, discounted or special offer rates.

4) Driving Tests

a) It is the responsibility of the pupil to book their driving test with the Driving Standards Agency.
b) The test fee paid to the Driving Standards Agency will be forfeited if less than 3 clear working days notice of cancellation is given.
c) CROSSROADS reserve the right to withhold the school's vehicle for the test if in the instructor's opinion the pupil has not reached the required standard.

5) Insurance and Personal Property

a) Fees include comprehensive insurance whilst driving the car under the supervision of a Driving Standards Agency approved instructor and when taking your test.
b) We make every effort to safeguard the pupil's personal property however CROSSROADS accepts no responsibility for any cash, clothing or any other personal items left in the car.

6) Payment

a) Payment is due at the start of each lesson and is not allowed to fall into arrears under any circumstances.
b) Cheques should be made payable to "CROSSROADS".
